The Persian cat is best known for sweet and quiet personality. He is the glamorous diva of the cat world. His beautiful sweet face, fluffy coat and glowing eyes make him the adorable cat everyone wants.He is a medium sized cat, usually weighing 7 t0 12 pounds. Persian cats groom well and adapts to new surroundings quickly. Their affection and cute face will melt your heart in no time. They are not stranger friendly and do not like dogs.
Persiansare thought to have originated in Persia. Originally, they have been bred to have a round head, short face, snub nose, chubby cheeks and a short bod. In modern times, they have evolved in two categories, show and traditional. Traditional Persians do not have as short a face as show Persians and look more like the earlier examples of the breed, but both have the same sweet personality. Today the Persian is the most popular cat registered by the Cat Fanciers Association.
Persians like kind people. They are quiet and gentle cats who prefer to sit in a quiet place. Not being athletic, they do not like to drag around or dressed up. Sometimes they welcome their owner with a meow, but usually let the eyes do the talking. They do not mind alone time with themselves but people’s presence seem to have good effect on them.They need to live in air-conditioned comfort, protected from hot weather. Airlines do not transport them in the cargo bay because of their potential for respiratory distress or even death in stressful conditions.
They are prone to generic health problems, like breathing difficulty or noisy breathing caused by constricted nostrils, Excessive tearing, Eye conditions such as cherry eye and entropion, heat sensitivity, Seborrhea Oleosa; a skin condition that causes itchiness, redness and hair loss.
